It’s official. The world is decaying. It isn’t due to global warming, ignorance, belligerence, and uneducated Black men. No. It’s because we are failing to realize that there is a plot against us--the human race. And gay men of color are at the forefront of it all. Who would have known, a disease that one Homosexual white man caught would take the lives of 22 million with another 44 million victims to its conquest.
I don’t get it: why can’t people get it? Why are people still getting infected! Why?! Why can’t people exercise accountability? Get tested. Put the fucking condom on. Stay monogamous. I don’t care that you’re in love, and you trust your man not to fuck around with the next homo. Or that you’re usually in the heat of passion and you don’t have time to put on the rubber. I’m tried of seeing people that look like ME, talk like ME, walk like ME, are a part of the same agenda as ME becoming a part of an always increasing statistic.
The only method to preserving the human race, the only method to assure safety lies within the context of one world and that word is responsibility. And guess what? It’s free. You don’t have to walk to the nearest organization to pick it up, or ask your partner to wear it, it isn’t something you have to carry, and it’s not a material. You wake up with it, you eat with it, and you shower with it. Why not use it?

Boo, you are right again, its about accountability, and these men who are not using a condom when engaging in sex need to own up to it, and stop looking like victims and villains. There is not one reason in 2007 why this disease should be spreading like wildfire any community. Sounds mean, but, someone buy these fools a clue about how diseases are spread sexually since they obviously missed that sex-ed class in school, the bill board on the bus or train, or even the BET commerical to rap it up. A life time of suffering for 5 minutes of nookie, children please, wake up, use a condom EVERY TIME and get tested.
Now, get back to those books :)
A short while ago folks were up in arms because I said that each person is accountable with keeping themself as safe as possible. That means, as grim as it seems, you should assume everyone is infected and act accordingly. There were folks up in arms because they felt it was the job of the positive person to tell you about their illness and protect you. The reality is YOU are responsible for YOU. Don't trust someone with YOUR life. Do you and do you responsibly.
cocoa rican you said it all. years ago i took a class on hiv and how its spread, they told us, assume every person you sleep with is positive and that should tell you to use a condom. with these tricks and trade, common sense should tell people that, but, for some reason, they seem to have a death wish or think it won't happen to them, a shame.
OK. So you're angry and I support you in your anger, BUT! it is unfair for you to harken back only as far as that "white homosexual" as the origin of the disease and blame him for the spread of the disease in America (don't you think)? He picked it up in Africa where it is endemic to most African populations.
Stop perpetuating that myth. It serves your purpose not one whit.
Responsibility to oneself, to one's brothers and sisters in the life; to your much vaunted Christian charity; accountability to future generations (of your no longer great nation)are attitudes the black gay community need develop. Also, so is compassion for those sickened and the three monkeys among you.
I agree there can be no excuse for an active gay getting and passing on this or any disease. I agree with Cocoa Rican that you do not harm yourself for in doing harm to others you harm yourself and your community.
There are many brothers and sisters who have not yet acquired the sense of self; nor have the ability to; nor have they attained the respect for themselves that has elevated you to the point of anger. It is now your job to reach out and educate them. Your blog preaches and reaches only the converted and will not reach those who need your guidance and love.
